Last year, the Canadian Red Cross was notified by our merchant provider, that the organization was required to become PCI
compliant before December 31st, 2005.
Catherine Clarke-Pagliaro of C.N. Wylie Group Inc. has proved to be very knowledgeable about the PCI compliance
requirements and the process required to achieve full compliance. Her expertise and determination were essential in guiding
us through a comprehensive action plan to meet the deadline. She demonstrated that she understood the financial challenges
of non-profit organizations and acted as our advocate with PCI to minimize the financial impact, on several occasions.
Catherine is concerned with the security vulnerability of the charitable sector, protection for all credit card holders
and is determined to raise security awareness and to ensure that organizations like the Canadian Red Cross adopt a culture
of high security over the long term.

Also just so you know we had another great year with our online donations using the SPI system. We raised $89,613.20 in 2002. As well we've used the shopping cart tool to register people for various events and the Volunteer form we have running on your system has led to 196 new volunteers! And all it cost us for the year 2002 to use the SPI donation management tools was $363.85! An outstanding ROI!
Thanks to everyone on the SPI team for your an outstanding product and all your assistance last year!

say, when they say and have provided affordable solutions for two projects completed for H&R Block,
Canada, Inc. They understood our business issues and worked well with our associates and partners.
Tax School:
Strategic Profits provided an online registration system for H&R Block that offered internet registration
for our fall income tax courses. The system required electronic communication between the student,
registration centers and our national office, along with the ability to edit locations and course costs
on a continual basis. We offer the courses in over 200 locations right accross Canada. The system required
over 50 administrators who had access to add and edit locations.

Entering the world of manufacturing is difficult enough for new companies. However, once the
complexities of the manufacturing component are understood and an excellent product has been
developed then the even more onerous task of selling the product begins. The objective is to sell the
product for as much profit as the market will bear, but where do you begin? Distribution channels are
difficult to develop and the middlemen are eager to take their bite of the profits, ultimately raising the end
price to the customer.
The Internet and an electronic commerce strategy present an alternative to the traditional methods of
selling products. As a new business, Two Wheel Gear can present a corporate image to web users and
offer it's products for sales to any customer in the world. Our distribution model employs leveraging the
collective marketing might of the Community Storefronts on-line mall and the use of courier services to
ship our products. Two Wheel Gear is investing in the Internet and electronic commerce as a way to solve
the problems a small business has in reaching niche markets (anywhere in the world) at an affordable
price. We are still learning how to market via the web but it is a challenge we look forward to and an
effort that will make us successful. Check us out at

"Strategic Profits has been a key part of our internet strategy at
United Way of Greater Toronto. From the time we first joined SPI's
Community Storefront, as part of pilot project with Industry Canada,
their professional services have made our online presence grow.
In 2000 we had a record-breaking $44, 775.00 in online donations and
this year we are tracking ahead of where we were last year. We received
a $5,000 donation online and because of the pricing structure at SPI the
services charges on that were small.
The backend system is easy to use and allows for great tracking of
transactions, with improved security. It allows our finance people to
easily access records and check accounts.
As well, this year with the help of SPI we started running registration
for our workshops online. SPI was able to quickly post these forms,
which allow people to easily register for the workshop, and provides a
email confirmation to both the registrant and us. The data is easily
extracted to an excel spreadsheet.
Finally, the online support from the team at SPI is top-notch! Any
contact is replied to swiftly and professional within hours, if not
minutes. The WebBoard area is great for keeping in touch with new
features, other users in the SPI community and the team at SPI.
We have enjoyed our relationship with SPI and appreciate their
commitment to making the web accessible to not-for-profit organizations
at a very reasonable cost.

"We subscribe to other charity portals offering an e-receipting service for
on-line donations, however this one is the best we have seen."
"The personalization and customization features give us services and advantages over that of other options. As well, costs are highly competitive with others, and given the increased sophistication of this portal,
it offers true value for money."

CARE Canada's fundraising revenue has historically relied upon traditional methods of fundraising such direct mail.
CARE Canada's mission is to serve individuals and families in the poorest communities in the world. Drawing
strength from our global diversity, resources and experience, we promote innovative solutions and advocates
for global responsibility. Contributions to CARE Canada allow us to provide much needed support to communities
all over the world. CARE continues to work in parts of the world where poverty, rather than environmental
changes, is the root cause of human suffering. We continue to develop sustainable projects in which communities
employ your financial assistance to overcome what are often desperate situations. Water, sanitation, health and
income generation remain our primary interests in developing community security.
In 1998 it became apparent to us that we needed to investigate expanding our methods of fundraising in order to
meet our fundraising goals. With the expanding role of the Internet in the world around us it was obvious what
our first choice should be. We began the process of setting up a way in which our donors could make contributions
via our website.
This not only started the process of creating a "Donations Page" on our website but also drew attention to our
website in general. We now have a website that is both useful as a marketing tool and informative to the public
about CARE Canada's work around the world. It has also sparked other revenue generating projects which we feel
can be marketed via our website.
Another challenge that CARE Canada has regarding collecting donations is that we only have one National office for
fundraising across Canada. The office has limited staff and runs on Eastern Standard Time Monday to Friday. The
website allows donors who are located across Canada to make donations to CARE Canada from the comfort of their home
or office at their convenience regardless of the time or day. It's like having a virtual office 24 hours a day.
During times of emergencies and crisis across the world the website allows donors to make a donation which can
immediate address the need at hand. It also allows the donor to get up to date information on where their money
will be spent at the same time again at their convenience.
All in all the website donations page has allowed CARE Canada to expand the methods by which donors can give to
CARE and make it more convenient for the donor to give.
